The Beth and John Evans Scholarship Program provides multi-year financial support to high-achieving students of Mayan descent who speak one of the 23 Mayan languages. The program focuses on college access, English language proficiency, leadership, and entrepreneurship, equipping Mayan youth with the tools to build futures in their own communities.

Jóvenes Chujes Scholarships
Multi-year support for adolescents and young people in San Mateo Ixtatán who lack economic resources to access quality education. Recipients are selected based on academic potential, leadership, and a commitment to improving their communities. The program includes skill-building workshops on migration, violence prevention, entrepreneurship, mental health, and vocational guidance. Each scholarship is awarded based on a comprehensive socioeconomic study and a home visit.

Access Program
A U.S. Department of State initiative providing 580 hours of in-person English language classes for low-income students. The program strengthens personal, academic, and professional skills while promoting intercultural understanding and entrepreneurship. GuateMaya covers the cost of books, teachers, facilities, and all teaching materials. Running since 2018 across multiple cohorts.

EAGLES Program
English Acquisition for Guatemalan Leaders and Entrepreneurial Skills a U.S. Embassy initiative providing 290 hours of English language education combined with environmental education and entrepreneurship. The program develops leadership, teamwork, cooperation, and critical thinking skills for young men and women in Huehuetenango. Implemented in 2022 and continuing through 2025.

SEAL / BEAR Program
SEAL is the advanced level of the Access Program — 562 hours of English learning and teacher training, plus 100 hours of supervised practice. BEAR (Basic English for Access Recruitment) is a 24-month program helping students reach A1 English proficiency while building civic responsibility and community bonds. Graduates gain access to English teaching, entrepreneurship, and higher education opportunities.
