Sports Diplomacy
Sports Diplomacy Exchange
A 10-day initiative hosted at the Mansfield Center of Montana University. It brings together indigenous youth from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras with American college students to foster leadership, cultural understanding, and gender equality through soccer. A key goal is empowering young women and preventing gender-based violence using sports as a tool for personal and community transformation. Through soccer, participants develop teamwork, communication, cooperation, and resilience skills that extend far beyond the field.

School Construction
Centro Uno School — Barillas
After 5 years of planning, construction began on April 24, 2023. The school was built with compressed bricks made by the community using locally sourced earth, lime, sand, and cement creating cooler, more comfortable classrooms. All masons were local, promoting job creation within the community. The school has 3 classrooms and an administrative office, and was inaugurated on January 27, 2024. A subsequent grant funded 75 desks and 3 blackboards. The school now serves 68 students from 5 surrounding communities.
