A library that opens
doors for a community
The Community Library in San Mateo Ixtatán is the first of its kind in the region. Opened in 2016 with support from the Central Bank of Guatemala, it serves over 2,000 users every year through multilingual books, reading clubs, and financial literacy programs for children and families.

First library of its kind in Huehuetenango
Opened in 2016 with support from the Central Bank of Guatemala, serving students, families and professionals with multilingual books in Spanish and Mayan languages. One of only a handful of libraries in the entire department of Huehuetenango.
Methodology
Project-Based Learning approach
All programs develop critical thinking, leadership, and communication skills through active and participatory processes. For two consecutive years recognized as the most active library in the region. All materials and programs are completely free of charge.
