Dear friends of GuateMaya Alliance,

Join Us for Our Annual Gathering

We invite you to join us for our annual Autumn Gathering & Dinner on Saturday, November 7th at 4:00 p.m.  at the home of Beth Neville Evans, a beloved tradition that brings together the community of supporters who make our work possible.

This year we have much to celebrate and share. In late September, our team traveled to Guatemala City for the Central America Donors Forum, where we connected with foundations and philanthropic leaders eager to learn more about GMA’s work in the western highlands. From there, our delegation traveled deep into the Cuchumatanes Mountains to San Mateo Ixtatán, witnessing firsthand the closing ceremony of our Project-Based Learning certificate program, breaking bread with the teachers who are transforming their classrooms, and sitting with community members to dream together about a new solar-powered community library and resilience center now in design.

We also have two very special guests joining us this November: Mónica López and Yessica Cardona, two women from Huehuetenango who traveled to Charlottesville as exchange students ten years ago and are returning to celebrate that milestone with the community that welcomed them. Their presence is a beautiful reminder of what lasting cross-cultural connection looks like.

Come hungry - for food, for stories and for the kind of connection that makes this work meaningful. We look forward to seeing you.
